BKR (Business Credit Registry)

The BKR is the Netherlands' primary database where banks, finance companies and other credit providers register data on business loans, credit facilities and payment obligations of companies and entrepreneurs. It functions as a credit history archive for commercial clients.

In commercial real estate transactions, lenders consult BKR records when evaluating mortgage applications or acquisition financing. A clean BKR record—showing no payment defaults or missed obligations—strengthens loan approval chances and often leads to more favourable lending terms and interest rates.
