Chamber of Commerce

The Chamber of Commerce is the official Dutch authority responsible for registering all business entities, sole traders and other commercial organisations in the Business Register. Any entrepreneur operating in the Netherlands must register with this body.

It issues the Chamber of Commerce number (KvK number), a unique identifier required for all business transactions, tax matters and formal agreements. The public register allows anyone to search company details including ownership, legal structure and business activities.

For real estate professionals, the Chamber of Commerce register serves as a critical tool for verifying counterparty credibility and conducting basic due diligence on business partners.
