WOZ Assessment

A WOZ Assessment is the official determination by the Dutch municipality of a property's market value for taxation. This annual valuation of Real Estate (Waardering Onroerende Zaken) forms the basis for levying property taxes and local surcharges.

Municipalities establish the value using current market data, comparable transaction prices in the region, and property-specific characteristics. Property owners receive written notification and have the right to lodge an objection if they believe the assessed value is incorrect or if registration data contains errors.
