Flex workspace in Utrecht: desks from €229/month

What is a flex workspace?

A flex workspace is a desk inside a shared office that you rent per day, week or month. You get access to a desk, fast internet, meeting rooms, coffee and the usual facilities, without having to lease a traditional office. The provider handles fit-out, maintenance and overheads.

Unlike a traditional office, you don't need a long-term contract. Locations may offer hot desks only, or also private team rooms within the flex concept. Month-to-month termination and scaling is common.

Who is a flex workspace for?

Freelancers escaping the home office now and then, startups that scale fast, project teams that need temporary space, and established companies that want professional workspaces closer to their employees. Larger organisations increasingly choose flex over fixed offices as well.

What does it cost?

Pricing varies widely. Hot desks typically range from €150 to €350 per month. A fixed dedicated desk within a shared office sits between €300 and €600 per month. Private team rooms scale higher with desk count and location. The prices on this page indicate the starting rate per location. Always ask for exact terms.

What to look for

Accessibility (public transport / car / parking), opening hours, facilities like phone booths and meeting rooms, and the feel and community of the location. Always plan a tour before signing.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between a hot desk and a fixed desk?

At a hot desk you pick any free seat in the shared workspace each day. With a fixed desk you have a dedicated workplace that is always yours, often with a lockable cabinet.

Can I cancel a flex workspace monthly?

At most locations yes, typically with a one-month notice. Some providers require a 3 or 6 month minimum for the sharpest rates.

Are meeting rooms included?

Many packages include a number of free meeting room hours per month. Beyond that you pay per hour or half-day.

What is included in the price?

Typically: desk, chair, internet, coffee/tea, use of common areas, cleaning, utilities. Optional extras: printing, lockers, parking, additional meeting rooms.

Can I register my company at a flex workspace address?

Not automatically. Chamber of Commerce registration requires explicit permission from the address owner. Many flex providers offer this as an option (see our virtual office listings) or as an upgrade.
